Senator Mustapha mourns Jega’s Wife, attends burial in Abuja

The Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Saliu Mustapha, has commiserated with former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, on the demise of his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega.

In a personally signed condolence message, Senator Mustapha described the death as a sad development, noting that the late Hajiya Hadiza was a pillar of support to her family and a woman of virtue whose life reflected compassion, dignity, and devotion.

The lawmaker, who attended the Janaza held on Sunday at the National Mosque in Abuja, joined other dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers in paying final respects to the deceased.

He prayed to Almighty Allaah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her al-janat fridaus, while also asking God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Senator Mustapha urged Professor Jega to remain steadfast in faith during this difficult period, assuring him of his thoughts and prayers.

He noted that the loss of a loved one, particularly a life partner, is always deeply painful, but encouraged the former INEC chairman to take solace in the impactful life she lived and the legacy she left behind.
